Chamber Councils

Getting involved with programs you care about connects you to the information and people that will enhance the value of your membership. The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce offers current members a range of opportunities to share their expertise and enthusiasm with the community. Ambassadors Council

The Ambassadors Council’s primary objectives are event involvement, recruitment of new members, and membership retention. The Ambassadors Council is a strong representation of the Chamber within the community. Council members attend all Chamber functions, including luncheons and Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies/Business After Hour events.

Members of the council strive to welcome and assist new Chamber members. Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month- alternating from 7:30am at the Muni West Building to 4:00pm at TBD Member
restaurant.

 

VP Kari Docherty, Spero Family Services

Education Council

The Educational Clearinghouse promotes the development of quality business/education partnerships in order to establish useful educational opportunities for Jefferson County students. The mission is to assist in preparing students to become productive and prepared in their decision to further their education or choose a career. The Council also raises funds to provide multiple scholarships and classroom grants to students/teachers in Jefferson County.

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday every month- 7:30AM- Muni West Building.

Internal Affairs Council

The Internal Affairs Council helps the Chamber fulfill its mission by providing effective and efficient managerial leadership and oversight. The Council, Executive Director and Chamber legal counsel will formulate Chamber policies and consider Chamber finances to make sound business and legal decisions and will ensure continuity within the Chamber office by overseeing the Executive Director and staff, and by providing the necessary policies and procedures.

Internal Affairs Council meets at the discretion of the Chamber President.

Past Presidents Council

The Past Presidents Council consists of previous Chamber Presidents. It’s mission is to provide leadership in business and commerce through the tracking and interpreting of upcoming and ongoing legislation and informing the membership as well as encouraging response. The President’s Council hosts legislative briefings, candidate forums and business seminars as warranted by current events and need.

Past Presidents meet the second Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at various member businesses.

 

VP Kay Zibby-Damron, SSM

Small Business Council

The mission of the Small Business Council is to coordinate activities that make a positive impact on local businesses, as well as promoting businesses/organizations to the public through initiatives and campaigns. Projects include: Member2Member Discount program, JCCC Home & Outdoor Expo, and Member Plaques.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month alternating from 7:30am- Muni West Building to 4:00pm at TBD Member restaurant.

VP Brian Harland, Jefferson County Development Corp.

Special Events Council

The Special Events Council is responsible for increasing community awareness of the JCCC, as well as planning/facilitating events and other special activities to fundraise for the organization and provide members with enjoyable networking opportunities. Projects include: Annual Dinner, JCCC Golf Outing, Fall Fest Booth, and the Brew, Que, & Cornhole, Too event.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month alternating from 7:30am- Muni West Building to 4:00pm at TBD Member restaurant.
